Another 6-million migrants are waiting in countries around the Mediterranean to cross over into Europe in 2017, according to a German government report leaked to Bild newspaper.

2.5 million are currently waiting in North Africa including Libya (1 million) Egypt (1 million) Morocco, Tunisia & Algeria (550,000) and further 1 million are waiting in reserve in Jordan.

This year alone 650,000 more have moved up from Africa, Asia and the Middle East to join them

There are now fears of a dramatic increase in arrivals during the mild late summer weather as many are opting for sea-crossings since the overland route through the Balkans was closed late last year.

According to reports another 3.3million are waiting in Turkey, most of whom are prevented from entering Europe thanks to the migrant deal the EU made with Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan.

Or rather the cash payments the EU keep sending in order to keep him sweet. Since Erdogan is on record as calling for a Muslim dominated Europe he is likely to open his ‘out door’ as soon as the payments slow down.

Meanwhile German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who seems convinced that cash incentives can halt the flow of Muslims into Europe for the time being, is now encouraging similar deals with Muslim North African nations.

In a long awaited u-turn Merkel’s new manifesto plans include ‘those who are rescued from drowning while attempting to cross the Mediterranean will be returned to the country of departure,’ says Bild.

And that is because with the German general election approaching (September 2017) any repeat of the chaotic scenes of 2015 would threaten her chances of re-election. However, if she does win another full term then anything could happen.

No serious observer believes for one moment that if Merkel wins the general election in September she will not immediately return to her deeply unpopular ‘open-door’ policy.

The future of Europe currently relies on the German people remembering the migrant crisis Merkel caused across the continent over the last five years and NOT giving her another elected mandate to do more of the same over the next.
