A woman fell from the seventh floor at Hong Kong International Airport shortly after noon on Thursday.
An employee called police after the Chinese woman, believed to be in her 40s, jumped over railings in the departure hall of Terminal 1 and landed outside arrival hall A on the fifth floor.
Paramedics from the airport clinic performed first aid on her. No other passengers were injured.
“The woman was unconscious and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment,” a police spokesman said. “Officers could not find any notes on her. Initial investigations showed the case was not suspicious.”
He said it was unclear if she had attempted suicide. Officers had not yet identified the woman as she was not carrying identity documents.
She had long hair, was wearing a brown top and black jeans, and was carrying a red suitcase.
Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about the case to contact them.
